Lots of changes...

There have been lots of changes around here since my last post:

1. Ella turned 2 years old!! We had her party a couple weeks ago. I can hardly believe we have a 2 and 3 year old in our house now! Matthew and Ella are very good friends and enjoy playing together most of the time. They are learning very quickly how to be partners in crime when it comes to doing exactly what mommy and daddy tell them not to. Needless to say, we are getting an education every day in real life parenting.

2. I have a new job. In September I resigned my position with Dupont Hospital and started working for Visiting Nurse Hospice. I am so happy with the change and am getting to use my degree each and everyday. I am working a few more hours with this job, but we are fortunate to still have my mom watching our kids so it works out great! I am amazed at how many people say, "Oh, how do you like that?" in a tone that certainly implies that there is no way someone could like this line of work. I am learning everyday what a privilege it is to walk with patients and families through this journey. There are some days that are more difficult than others, but I am blessed by the work I am doing.

3. Our Christmas shopping is DONE. In fact, it has been pretty much done since October 1st. We are getting very excited for the holidays around our house and are looking forward to experiencing the thrill of Christmas through the eyes of our children.

We hope each of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and a blessed holiday season. We are certainly a family blessed!!
